Picto - The social network where the whole world speaks emoji

by
Picto is an emoji-only social network. No text, no language barrier — a kid in Seoul and a grandma in Brazil can be friends. Photos are earned, not spammed: every 5 reactions = 1 photo ticket. Emoji-only comments mean hate speech is literally impossible. Start in 3 seconds as a guest — no signup.

My mom, my 7-year-old nephew, and my friends abroad all use the same 20 emojis — but they could not use the same social network. So I removed the one thing that divides us online: words. Everything on Picto is emoji-only, photos are earned with reactions (5 hearts = 1 photo ticket), and hate comments are physically impossible. It is the feed I would hand to my kid and my grandma.

Have you thought about adding a quick reaction limit per person per day so bots or really enthusiastic fans can't tank the photo ticket system for everyone else

very thank u! i will check it!!!!

shipped it — you found a real hole, thank you 🙏

Two caps are live now. First, a daily reaction limit: 120/day signed in, 40/day for guests — guest accounts are free to create, so they get the tighter one.

Second, the one you were really pointing at: a single account can now only contribute 3 reactions toward any one person's photo tickets, and self-reactions no longer count at all. So earning a ticket requires reaching different people — one very enthusiastic fan (or one bot) hitting everything you post can't mint tickets for you anymore.

Both are enforced in the database security rules, not just in the app: the reaction and the quota increment are one atomic write, and the daily bucket comes from server time so it can't be rotated. I tested it against the live rules — resetting the quota, jumping it, and faking the date all get rejected, and a guest stops at exactly 40.

All of it is live now — genuinely the most useful comment I got this launch 🙌

jumped in as a guest in like 5 seconds and the no-text rule is weirdly addictive. Makes you actually look at the photos instead of scrolling past captions.

 hah okay~~!!

that's exactly the effect I was chasing, and you put it better than my own landing page does 🙏

Worth flagging since it's the thing you liked: "you actually look at the photo" only holds while photos stay scarce, and Erdoğan spotted a hole in exactly that. Photo tickets were minted purely from raw reaction count, so a handful of throwaway accounts could farm them and flood the feed. That's fixed and live now — one account can only push 3 reactions toward any one person's tickets, plus a daily reaction cap.

One thing I'd love to know: did you stay a guest, or sign in? The 3-second start is the part I'm least sure about — I don't know yet whether skipping signup helps people stay or just makes it easy to leave.
