Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm the founder and solo developer behind Phrasing. For the last three years I've been obsessed with building the language learning app I always wished existed ~ one that I would actually be excited to use every day for years.
Existing apps were either super effective (spaced repetition, etc.) but ugly and boring, or beautiful but not serious enough for maintaining multiple languages at once. So I built Phrasing for people like me: language enthusiasts who want real progress across several languages without the friction.
After using it daily for over a year, I'm making steady progress in every single one. It combines:
• Spaced repetition for long-term retention
• Natural language acquisition techniques
• A clean, delightful UI/UX that I actually look forward to opening
• A ton of principles from memory science and language acquisition fields
It's the first app that's as beautiful as it is effective. And it works great in over 90 languages
I'd love your honest feedback! What languages are you learning (or maintaining)? What's your biggest pain point with current tools? Drop a comment, happy to answer every question!
Thanks for checking it out ❤️

This looks incredibly polished, congrats! If someone is already learning a language (I'm using Anki flashcards to learn Spanish), what would be the main differences if moving to Phrasing? Is it supposed to speed up the process or make it easier?
It'll definitely make things easier - not only does Phrasing come with all the explanations built in, but the entire app is designed around making your reviews more enjoyable. I used Anki for years, and while I loved the results, I never looked forward to my reviews or got stuck doom-reviewing like I do in Phrasing. You'll find Phrasing a lot less of a grind to use every day, almost zero effort to manage, and you'll find you learn a lot more as a result :)
The main difference though lies in how it's intended to be used. Anki is a great place to put short cards you've learned and want to remember; Phrasing is a great place to put long cards you want to learn and never forget. Think quantity vs quality: with Anki, you need to have tens of thousands of cards; with Phrasing, you want to try to fit as much new concepts in an Expression as possible.
