Be honest: How much time does your team actually waste making a 60-second product video?

Over the past few months, the development side of shipping software has become ridiculously fast. With AI coding assistants, you can build a working web app or MVP in a weekend.

But the moment you need a 60-second video for your launch, marketing, or social announcement, everything hits a wall.

From what I’ve seen across indie hackers and early-stage teams, the reality usually looks like this:

• Agencies quote $3,000–$8,000 and ask for a 2-week turnaround.

• You open Premiere, After Effects, or CapCut yourself and end up burning 20+ hours aligning audio tracks and keyframing text.

• Or you try existing AI video tools, spend hours tweaking prompts, and end up with a dozen disjointed 4-second clips that still need to be manually stitched together.

It feels absurd that we can describe complex code in plain language, yet product videos still require manual keyframing and timeline scrubbing.

Curious how other folks here handle this: do you still make videos for your launches, or just stick to screenshots and GIFs?
