How are you actually finding businesses for sale? The process seems completely broken.

I've been deep in the world of business acquisitions for a while now, and one thing that keeps striking me is how fragmented and manual the search process still is.

Serious buyers are juggling the major business for sale marketplaces, Facebook groups, regional broker sites, Craigslist etc. etc. — checking each one manually, trying not to miss something. And good listings move fast. By the time most people find one, it's already under LOI.

I'm genuinely curious how people here are approaching this in 2026:

  • Are you actively looking to buy a business? What does your search process actually look like day to day?

  • Have you ever missed a deal because you found out about it too late?

  • Is there a source you swear by that most people overlook?

No agenda here, I'm not a broker or going to try to loan you money — just building something in this space and trying to understand how buyers actually operate versus how the industry assumes they do.

Would love to hear from anyone who's been through a recent search or acquisition, whether you closed on something or walked away.
