Oh my goodness... I actually think I might love this. The video looks really light-hearted and fun. Real question... Battery Life? Please be good to me. It does the important things for sure...πŸ‘‡ But sadly no touchbar... 😒

Opera Neon is a concept browser built from the same browser engine as the Opera browser; it’s designed to allow users to focus on the most important part of the internet: the content. Opera Neon will provide users with fun ways to interact with web content, including the ability to drag and push things around, and even to even pop content out from the web.

@neerajt4 Thanks for the hunt! We are very excited to finally release our new concept browser, Opera Neon. By taking the established conventions of what desktop browsers have traditionally looked and felt like and throwing them out the window we freed ourselves to explore and re-imagine what desktop browsers could be. A few features debuting in Opera Neon's completely refreshed user interface include: New start page using users’ current desktop background image. A left sidebar with video player, image gallery, and download manager. A new visual tab bar on the right side of the browser window that makes it easier to distinguish between tabs. An intelligent system that automatically manages tabs; like gravity, frequently-used tabs float to the top, while rarely-used tabs will sink to the bottom. A completely new omnibox, supporting top search engines and open search. Also, new ways of enjoying web content have been added: Video pop-out, which lets users to watch videos while browsing other web pages Snap-to-gallery, which allows users to snapshot and crop any part of a web page and save to the gallery for later use. A split screen mode which allows for two pages to be used simultaneously. We would love to hear your thoughts!

From the video, I get a feeling that it's something like a Browser-as-an-OS?

This is so sexy! It's so beautiful. I love a lot of things already - The UI - The video player by the side (It's so perfect for work πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚) - The way the Esc button turns off the crop snap This is really awesome. I would test it out as my default browser but no bookmarking yet :-(

@citizenfatimah Appreciate the kind words!! IRT bookmarks: We grew tired of browsers treating the web like paper documents, crudely stuffing them into a briefcase to sort out and come back to later, which is why one of the highlights of Opera Neon is that we have largely removed the need for bookmarking your favorite sites! The Speed Dials in Neon automatically collect your most frequently used sites with the ones you visit most often rising to the top and those shown less love eventually falling down and out of view. You can also drag tabs over into these Speed Dials manually if you don't want to wait for the system to do it automatically!

@chetaaron @citizenfatimah So maybe think about history import functionality of user primary browser? Or just analyze it and drag the data about most important website to Newon? It could helps us to move our pined websites and most important url's to Opera :).

@chetaaron @citizenfatimah I don't bookmark because it's my fav site (as in: frequently visited) , I bookmark because I may need the page again later on.

Amazing! Touchbar support would be nice. However, i think extension support is a must have. I use LastPass frequently so having it on Opera Neon to fill in authentication forms will be extremely convenient.

Can I import bookmarks? Then I'll try it as my default for a period of time
