Open AI in 2026. What is coming?
I see OpenAI as a tech giant that sets the direction in AI, and I try to follow their steps.
Right at the beginning of the year, 2 news items that reached my news horizon resonated with me:
OpenAI is betting on audio-first AI, a screen-less experience. So future gadgets will be more like companions, not just tools.
New forms of professions – today, I did not miss the new job offer that OpenAI came up with, which reflects changes in the market. They are looking for a Head of Preparedness, which seems like a visionary role to me. 😀
It is known that OpenAI wanted to come up with its own social network competing primarily with X (maybe just out of rivalry), and they are working on a hardware device.
What potential changes and evolution do you expect from this company?

I doubt an audio-only device will be successful, I think too many things just cannot be well communicated without visuals.
OpenAI fortunately takes safety seriously traditionally, so the Head of Preparedness job offer shouldn't be a surprise.

A social network like X would be dope ! (as there's already Sora) I guess it would help make the LLMs better.

I think their LLMs are going to improve massively.
