octoscope 0.24.2 โ€” a context-aware footer

Hey hunters ๐Ÿ‘‹

Small but satisfying drop today: octoscope 0.24.2 makes the footer tell the truth about which keys actually work.

octoscope is a terminal dashboard for your GitHub account ๐Ÿ™ โ€” followers, stars, PRs, issues and CI status, all auto-refreshing right in your terminal.

Here's the itch I finally scratched: when you drill into a repo, PR or issue detail, that view captures every keystroke. But the bottom bar kept advertising the list-level hotkeys โ€” tab to switch, p for public, comma for settings, ? for help โ€” none of which fire in there. Four keys that looked live but did nothing.

Now the footer collapses to exactly what works at that depth: esc back ยท r refresh ยท q quit. Back out with esc and the full set returns. ๐ŸŽฏ

Tip: the detail view's own actions (o to open on GitHub, v to cycle a repo's star history) live in the title bar up top โ€” so nothing got hidden, the footer just stopped lying.

Grab it, or upgrade:

brew upgrade gfazioli/tap/octoscope

What's the smallest UI detail that's ever made you trust โ€” or distrust โ€” a tool? I collect these ๐Ÿ‘‡
