OBDAssistant Global vehicle health

by

I’m launching OBDAssistant on Product Hunt soon.

It’s an AI-powered OBD2 scanner and car diagnostics app built to solve a problem most drivers have dealt with:

A check engine light appears, you scan the car, get a fault code… and still don’t know what it really means.

Most OBD2 apps show codes.

OBDAssistant explains them.

The app connects through an OBD2 adapter and helps turn vehicle diagnostic data into plain-English answers:

• What the fault code means

• How serious it may be

• What systems are involved

• What live sensor data may support it

• What to check next

• How to explain the issue to a mechanic

I built this because I’ve seen the same problem constantly as a mobile mechanic.

Drivers don’t just need raw codes like P0171, P0420, P0300, or P0299.

They need context.

They need to know whether the issue is urgent, whether it’s safe to keep driving, and what the likely causes are before they start spending money.

That’s the gap OBDAssistant is built to solve.

The bigger vision is to turn vehicle diagnostics into a car health assistant — something that helps drivers understand faults, monitor vehicle health, and make better repair decisions before small problems become expensive ones.

It’s been built solo, from real mechanic experience, and was accepted into the Google Play Apps Accelerator.

Now I’m preparing the Product Hunt launch and would really value feedback from founders, drivers, mechanics, Android users, and anyone interested in AI tools.

The big question I’m exploring:

Would you trust AI car diagnostics if the advice was grounded in real OBD2 data from the vehicle?

Launching soon here:
