Hey everyone! Psyched to get this out into the wild. Will be here if you have any questions, but it's pretty simple. Notarize is the first on-demand remote electronic notary service, allowing anyone to legally notarize a document from their iPhone 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. It's valid nationally and connects customers with licensed Virginia electronic notaries by live video call. Simply download the app, prove your identity, fill out your document, and sign before a live agent to have it notarized instantly. Whole transaction takes 3-4 minutes.
@rrhoover Right! Last time I needed a notary it was a Sunday, long story, but I had to track down a title agent friend who I still owe a favor to. Love this app!

Excellent! Will you guys have an API so we can integrate into our document flow when needed? (Real Estate)
@corleyh@patk Once travelled to four different banks to find one, and then I had to wait for 20 minutes at the last bank while the notary finished his lunch. 🙁
@corleyh@patk I definitely agree with this. I can actually see it being super helpful to college kids, as sometimes they need things notarized when the college offices might be closed. I had a similar experience when I was a senior with some forms I needed to have done, and would have certainly loved to have a tool like this to use. :D
@patk - this is freaking genius. Notarizing is a huge PITA. Can't believe it's still a thing. Your video (sandwich made, I assume, based on the Adam cameo?) is awesome.
That being said, I do think your pricing is a little high. I definitely would use it if I was in a pinch and needed something notarized ASAP... but I think $25 is a lot, considering you can just go to your local bank and get it done for free (at least in NY). Just a thought.
@zolihonig I think the closest comparison is a traveling notary who will come to you. They typically charge $50 to $150 for a visit. I think we're an order of a magnitude more convenient (on demand with no scheduling or coordination) and cheaper. Also, our goal is to integrate into business workflows and many business are interested in splitting or covering the cost entirely. More to announce on that front soon :(
@iammrbiggs Yup. Notary prices are typically set by the state and that's the fee in VA for electronic notary services. It's per notarization, not per page (which is often someone's next question as many in-person notaries can charge per page).
@iammrbiggs As far as I know, a place nearby charges $10 per signature so it's not a big of a deal unless it's $25 plus fees (and it includes all signatures).
brilliant! downloaded for my next need - and yes, it doesn't happen a lot but when the need arises, it is a total pain - either go to a bank, town hall, post office...nice work!

Awesome! But how am I going to remember this app when I need something notarized 2-10 years from now? (I'm not a notary regular)
@seanevd download it and stick it in a folder!! Truth is, that's why I've made such an investment in the domain and brand. Furthermore, in 2-10 years the bank (or other institution) should be on our platform and they'll send you a transaction that leads you to us. [Or so we hope/plan]
