I just want to share some joy with you

by

About eight years ago, on a quiet summer afternoon at work, something strange happened. I was staring at my shiny 27-inch iMac when I noticed a tiny bug crawling across the screen. I tried to brush it away with my hand. It didn’t move. I tried again. Still there.

Then it hit me. The bug was inside the screen!

It had somehow slipped between the glass and the display. I just sat there staring at it. There was something oddly charming about this tiny creature wandering across my desktop like it owned the place.

That moment stuck with me!

The next day, I made a small prototype of a little digital bug crawling around the screen. It felt fun and alive. I tried to publish it to the App Store, but it got rejected for not having enough functionality. Life got busy. I moved on. The idea went quiet for years.

But this year, I decided to do something just for myself again. Something that makes me happy. I brought the idea back and turned it into something new.

That is how NotiSprite was born. A tiny desktop companion that reacts to your notifications. It jumps, waves, dances, gets excited, and sometimes just hangs out. It reminds you that your computer is not only for work. There is room for play.

And this time, it became a family project.

🐜 My daughter designed the Ant.
🐞 My wife drew the Ladybird in ProCreate.
🫧 I modeled the Noti Bubble in Blender.
🐕🐈 And a friend designed our stars, Noti Shiba and Noti Miao.

I have been coding for 15 years. Most of my work has been about building other people's dreams. This is the first time I am building something that brings joy to me and to my family. It feels different! It feels right!

I am working on the iOS version now, and there are more sprites, features and new projects on the way. I hope one day NotiSprite can become a platform where artists and designers from anywhere can bring their characters to life and share them with the world.

This whole adventure started because of one tiny bug under a layer of glass. And now, we have our own little world growing from it.

@apoorvajain Thanks so much for being one of the NotiSprite customers. It truly means a lot to us.

I am really happy to hear you enjoyed it so far. We have many cool features on the way for macOS. We are also working hard on the iOS and iPadOS versions so you can take your sprite outdoors if you already purchased one.

If you have any questions or ideas for improvements, feel free to reach out through the built in help button in the app.

Have a great night. You really made my day :)
