Would you use a temporary File Shelf built into the top of Windows?

One of the features I originally considered secondary has become one of my favorite parts of NotchClean.

It’s called File Shelf.

The workflow is simple:

1. Drag any file onto the notch
2. NotchClean temporarily holds it
3. Switch folders/apps/windows
4. Drag the file back out wherever you need it

You can also:

• Open the file
• Reveal it in File Explorer
• Copy its path
• Keep several temporary items available

The idea came from a very ordinary annoyance: moving assets between Explorer, browser downloads, design tools, IDEs, messaging apps, and other folders.

Instead of navigating back to wherever the file came from, the top of the screen becomes temporary working space.

I’m curious:

Would this actually become part of your workflow?

And if you use something similar already, what feature would make a File Shelf genuinely useful rather than another place files accumulate?
