I'll be real with you — I've always been the guy fighting his own mind. The restlessness, the urge to grab my phone the second things got hard, the focus slipping right when I needed it most. For years it felt like a fight I kept losing.

The phone was the worst of it. I'd pick it up without even deciding to, and every time, my focus was gone. The research backs it up: the average person picks up their phone 100+ times a day, and it takes 23 minutes and 15 seconds to fully refocus after one interruption (UC Irvine). That's not a distraction — that's losing the day, one pickup at a time.

Screen time apps never helped. They just hand you a guilt report after you've already lost.

So I built Nod — for me first, then for anyone fighting the same battle. Put your phone face down → a focus session starts. Pick it up → Nod catches it in real time, so you finally see the moment your mind slips, and you train it back. It's not about screen time. It's about taking back control of your own mind.
