LinkedIn: a necessary evil

byβ€’

Today, we officially started revamping @tommi_canu's personal LinkedIn profile to increase our reach.

And we're still not 100% sure about it.

At this point, LinkedIn has become more than essential to create connections, build a network, and get noticed.

So, there's no way around it: you need to use it if you want to spread the word about your product.

But managing it can be so annoying!

Of all the different tasks you need to accomplish to launch and grow, playing the social media game is often the most exhausting (at least, for us).

Everything is just about rules and pleasing the algorithm to increase your reach, and it's so difficult to remain authentic as we like to be.

"Reply to comments asap" (even when they're evidently written with AI and make no sense)

"Comment on others' posts constantly" (even when you have no idea what to say)

"Expand your network" (treating real people as purely transactional leads)

We refuse to play the game blindly, following all the rules.

So, we'll just post 2-3 times a week, talking about things we enjoy, and try to be consistent without going crazy.

If we don't have anything valuable to say to our followers or in our comments, we'll simply stay quiet.

This friction is why we usually draw a line on what we offer our clients.

We love crafting long-term strategies. We love writing sharp copy and designing on-brand visuals.

But the daily community management? Liking, replying, and everything else? No thanks. That is just not for us.

What's your relationship with LinkedIn and social media platforms in general?

I used to have a better relationship than now, that's for sure, but they started lowering reach for the accounts and it is very difficult to create content that is valuable according to their systems.

@busmark_w_nikaΒ obviously we decide to start LinkedIn again and this happens πŸ˜‚

it's unbelievable how fast things change on these platforms!

Have you already adapted your content?

Nika

@pamela_arientiΒ Not yet and honestly, I do not know which direction to go, because for that platform, nothing is enough.
