Nhat Nguyet 1.0.9: planning a family ceremony, together, inside one reminder

In a Vietnamese family, a death anniversary or the Lunar New Year is never one person’s job. Someone buys the offerings, someone cooks, someone drives the grandparents, and someone has to remember which prayer to read. Until now, that planning happened in a group chat, while the reminder lived in our app.

Version 1.0.9 brings the whole conversation into the reminder itself.

Three tabs on every reminder

• Plan: list what needs doing, assign each task to a family member, tick it off when it’s done.

• Comments: a chat-style thread. Type @ to mention someone and they get a notification right away. A group admin can turn any comment into a task with one tap.

• Photos: keep the photos from each year’s ceremony, grouped by year.

Plans that remember last year

Anniversaries come back every lunar year. The plan now carries over: copy last year’s tasks to the next occasion in one tap, or look back at what the family did last time.

A bell for everything

The new bell on the Today tab keeps the 20 latest notifications with an unread count. Group updates arrive instantly and stack together by family group on your phone.

Prayer texts and customs, offline

Our library of Vietnamese prayer texts (văn khấn) and customs now opens instantly inside the app, works without a connection, and lets you pinch to enlarge the text, which helps when you are reading aloud at the altar. Every anniversary reminder links straight to the right prayer.

What you add stays with the family

If someone leaves a group, the reminders, plans and photos they added stay with the group, marked as from a former member. Nothing the family prepared is lost.

Still the same foundation

• A lunar calendar engine cross-checked against NASA and the Paris Observatory (IMCCE), with open datasets on Zenodo, GitHub and Hugging Face.

• Over 1,700 articles on Vietnamese customs and beliefs, each with cited sources.

• An AI assistant that answers from those articles with numbered citations.

• Reminders on phone, tablet, web, Apple Watch, Wear OS, home-screen widgets and Telegram.
