Mux Video Live takes the pain out of live video encoding and streaming via a simple API. By the creators of Zencoder & Video.js. Build high-quality live streams into your application with just a few lines of code.
Hey @a85brown, @jondahl, @heff & @matt_mcclure,
Can you tell us more about what you've built here? What makes it stand out from other streaming products out there?
What was one of the most difficult aspects of creating this?

Hi @jacqvon - one of the main ways Mux Live is unique is that it's fully API-driven and designed for developers building live platforms. There are very, very few cloud-based live video encoding APIs out there, and so if you're a development team who wants to build something like Twitch, HQ, Periscope, or whatever, you usually end up spending months (literally) wrangling with encoding, ingest, failover, delivery, and scaling on EC2 or GCS.
We integrated with Mux instead of using AWS and I'm glad we did. So much easier to use out of the box and has plenty of features.

@chad_wilken How seamless was the integration? How long did it take to build your live stream functionality into your mobile app (or web app)?
Report
@kyle_jung We use it to process and stream video, we don't do live streaming. That aspect took a few days to implement, most of which was wiring up endpoints on our end.

@chad_wilken Ah I see. so you're team used the API to stream a pre-recorded video in real time. Sounds like the API is well built if you were able to get up and running in such little time!
Comfortable and useful tooling that makes it easy to work with video. Recently I read an interesting article https://idapgroup.com/blog/techn... on how to create streaming videos. I think it will be useful too
