Did You Build Your Startup Because You Wanted To… or Because You Had To?

by

I never chose to work on mental health.

Mental health chose me.

Years ago, depression wasn’t a topic I studied. It was something I lived with quietly. Some days, just functioning felt like a win. Reflection became the only tool that helped me make sense of my own thoughts and emotions.

I didn’t set out to “build a startup.”

I started building because once you’ve been in that dark place, you can’t unsee how many people are silently struggling. You can’t ignore how isolating the modern world has become. And you definitely can’t go back to building things that don’t matter.

Murror exists because this isn’t a want project for me.

It’s a need. A responsibility. A way to turn personal pain into something that helps others feel less alone.

I’m curious

For those of you building products here

Did your startup come from an idea you wanted to pursue

or from something you felt you had to build because of your own life experience?
