Hey Product Hunt, thanks for having us. It’s hard to find a good movie to watch. We were trying to understand, why? 🤔 Sure, there’s 18% more content now than there was three years ago. And more streaming services than ever. It’s overwhelming. But the real issue is existing solutions don’t take our emotions into account. Emotions influence nearly every decision we make. What we want to watch is no exception: it changes based on our current mood. But sometimes we don’t want to simply match our mood. We want to change it. And that’s the unique, transformative power movies have. 🎬 By tapping into our emotions, stimulating our senses, and creating a deep emotional bond with the characters and storylines, movies can significantly impact our moods. Directors know this. That’s why every decision they make is intentional. The music, lighting, shot composition, editing speed, everything. They want to move the audience emotionally. It’s why we rewatch movies - we know how they’re going to make us feel. 🥰 If watching movies is an emotional experience, shouldn’t discovering them be too? We think so. Except no one was doing it. So we decided to take a crack. At moveme.tv you’re asked how you want to feel. You can select or input any emotive words or emojis. E.g. ‘Courageous’ ‘🪐🤔🤯’ ‘Genius-like 🧠’ ‘🤘😎🤘’ ‘Wowzers’ Within seconds, our AI will suggest movies to take you on your desired emotional journey. We’re excited that this approach might help people pop their filter bubble. To discover great classic, indie and foreign movies they’d normally never see. Recommendations can be filtered based on ratings, release date, what can be watched for free, or what can be watched with any existing paid streaming subscription. Some final quick points: 🙏 moveme.tv is a free service, funded by an Innovate UK grant 🖥️ There’s no app to download and it works on any device ✅ You can add films to your watch or seen list 🤖 In time, as you interact, the AI will learn what you love 🚀 We’ve analyzed 676,906 films, on 516 streaming services across 118 countries Our vision is to transform moods at the push of a button. Launching on Product Hunt is the first step on that journey. Thanks for taking a look. Please join the conversation and we’d be grateful if you could share any feedback. On behalf of the moveme.tv team, thanks. 🎬

Guys, congratulations on the launch! 🥳 Waiting for some free time in my life in order to watch a film and test your solution! Especially enjoyed your bright colorful site! And great that you had a chance to make your solution free due to the grant. How're you planning to develop your product further, in what directions?
Ben Polkinghorne
@anna_sv Thanks Anna! We've had some great feedback sent in over the last 24 hours. There's a few quick wins we're going to look at straight away. We're grateful to the community for being so candid! Longer term, we'll remain focused on helping people find something great to watch. We'll be constantly improving every area - from the UX, to the speed of the servers, to - crucially - the quality of the recommendations. We'll also always be reaching out to users to see what they like and don't like. Ultimately, they'll help guide us to the best possible solution 🚀🪐

This platform is so helpful! Me and my partner spend far too long looking for a film, and we inevitably end up picking something so late that we don’t have time to finish it all that night. So I’m very glad to see this launched.
Ben Polkinghorne
@scott_kelly3 Funny you should say that! It seems like this is playing out in. every. living room. in. the. world. Time for change! 🎬
