Big thanks for checking out Mocko 👋
We built Mocko because we saw a gap in realistic, test-day-style TEF prep: real timing, authentic formats, in-depth feedback, all in one place. Our aim is to help students go into their exam with zero surprises and full confidence.
Would love to hear:
- what part of the TEF exam you find hardest
- what feedback or data would help you feel more prepared
- any features you wish existed in TEF prep tools
Excited to see what you all think, and happy to answer questions!

What’s been your biggest challenge when preparing for the TEF exam speaking, listening, writing, or reading?
Report
@shayan_bohluli What I’ve noticed among my learners is that they tend to start late, hence the lack of time time and the lack of platforms to practice the oral and written expression tests.
Starting early and having the right tools makes a huge difference. That’s exactly why we built Mocko: to give learners a space where they can practice both oral and written expression anytime and track their progress step by step. With consistent practice, even late starters can gain confidence and improve much faster.

@shayan_bohluli For me, as I’m preparing for the TEF, the biggest challenge is listening comprehension: the different accents bother me, and I can’t manage to deal with them.
We’re actively working on adding different accents in our upcoming launches to make the listening experience more realistic and helpful for learners like you.

@shayan_bohluli What remains difficult for me is the second written expression task — I struggle with how to argue my ideas and how I’m being graded. It scares me and holds back my self-confidence. If my text were evaluated in detail and given a score, I would feel less stressed.
Mocko gives you a detailed, criterion-based analysis of your writing (structure, argumentation, coherence, vocabulary, grammar).

@shayan_bohluli Writing section is the most challenging part
Report
@shayan_bohluli The most difficult thing for me is advanced grammar.
To answer the written and oral expression tasks properly, you have to know complex structures — but I always get lost in them.

Super excited to share Mocko! 🎉
We built it to make language exam prep feel real, with authentic test simulations, real-time scoring, and AI feedback that actually helps you improve. It’s starting with TEF Canada but designed to support all major exams soon. Would love your feedback and ideas on how we can make it even better! 🚀

You’re not alone, Task 2 is really tough.
