Metabase Embedded Analytics - Get in-product analytics quickly without waiting for sprints
by•
You've got data your customers want. Building analytics yourself is cool if you've got months and a few devs you want to punish. Embedding Metabase is faster and simpler. From simple charts to reporting tools anyone can use, customized to match your UI.

Excited to be hunting Metabase Embedded Analytics today!
We’ve been embedding our Open Startup dashboard with Metabase for a few years now, it’s one of the easiest ways to share real-time metrics in a clean, scalable, and transparent way.
At Cal.com, being an open startup means showing everything: weekly new customers, verified signups, Google search impressions and even our team morale and salaries. Metabase helps us power that.
We love that both Cal.com and Metabase are open source. It’s rare to find tools that align with our values and deliver production-ready performance.
Their new React SDK makes it even easier to embed dashboards and charts directly into products and public pages, with way more flexibility for devs.
We briefly considered building this from scratch, but:
It would have taken weeks of engineering time
We’d still be leaning on engineers to create and update dashboards, instead of being able to hand it off to other team members
It wouldn’t have been nearly as clean or future-proof
If you’re building a product and thinking about sharing metrics, whether publicly or in-app, I’d definitely check out what Metabase is doing. It saves time, looks great, and just works.

@peer_rich HOLY the launch. I am officially gathering my team to see this. And ohhhh congratulations on the awesome product!!!
@peer_rich Congrats Peer. Love the facts that its open source. Btw, does this work on any tech stack or on specific ones?
@peer_rich Loving this!

@alexander_m_kinn THIS!
I often talk to embedding customers looking for solutions like our embedded analytics SDK for React because they've realized that implementing their own embedded analytics is slowing them down and taking away their focus. It always starts with "just a few charts" using highcharts or a similar library, but it's a slippery slope: zooming in/out, drill-down, data exports, it's rarely a few simple charts.

@alexander_m_kinn Hahahhaha
Does it have dark mode? :)
InboxCRM
@izdieu yes it does! See the example here: https://embedded-analytics-sdk-demo.metabase.com/admin/question/458
Metabase
@izdieu The embedded analytics SDK for React supports custom themes. You can switch the theme at runtime to support dark mode, or even themes based on the user session. Check out the docs: https://www.metabase.com/docs/latest/embedding/sdk/appearance
I once led the effort to build an in-app reporting feature at a previous company. While the end result was solid and is still in use, it took over a year to get to a decent MVP—and another year to refine it and add a few features our users really wanted (and those weren't even the majority of things they were asking for).
The biggest lesson I took away from that experience: if analytics isn't your core product, don't build it from scratch. Invest in a third-party BI tool that integrates well into your platform.
Why? Because what looks deceptively simple (just render a table, right?) becomes complex incredibly quickly—sorting, filtering, custom columns, pivots, charts... Once users get a taste of insights, their expectations escalate fast.
That's why I'm genuinely excited about Metabase Embedded Analytics. It gives teams a powerful, plug-and-play way to deliver rich reporting experiences without reinventing the wheel. Massive kudos to the embedding team—this is seriously impressive work! 👏🚀

@katya_voropayeva1 I looked into building embedded analytics at a previous company and it became incredibly complex. So your takeaway really resonates: "if analytics isn't your core product, don't build it from scratch".
Resend
This is huge. I can't imagine running @Resend without Metabase :)

@zenorocha Thanks for the 💙. We are big fans of the work you're doing with Resend!
I really love the design! You can tell from the clean UI and detailed touches. Congrats on the launch!

@kay_arkain You've got @rayski and @alessiolaiso (among others) to thank for that. Thanks for the love!

@kay_arkain thanks a lot! ✨

@kay_arkain Thank you! 🙌

@bootincat Love to hear it. What are some of the biggest differences between them that you've experienced so far?
Metabase
Thanks Peer 🙏 We’ve loved seeing how Cal.com uses Metabase to push transparency to its fullest—and it’s especially cool to see that both our companies share open source roots. Appreciate you hunting us today!
If you've been following or using Metabase you'll know that making KPI dashboards for people in suits is a very small portion of what you could (and should!) be doing with Metabase. Lots of people connected to your company would benefit from having their data easily accessible, and a Metabase user's customers were a group we saw over and over.
We're trying to make the common ways people use Metabase easier and slicker, and our new Embedding offering is pulling everything together into a tighter package.
The new React SDK is the next step in that journey. It gives developers more control over layout, theming, and interactivity—basically, a much better way to integrate analytics right into the fabric of your app.
And since it’s 2025 and we know what half the launch page is going to look like 😅 — yes, we’ll also be introducing a new AI feature for embedded analytics. It helps your end users explore and ask questions more intuitively, with natural language. Think: less “build a chart,” more “what’s our conversion rate for last month?”
Excited to share more—and grateful to everyone who’s already embedding with us.

Congratulations! Do I understand correctly that you can also track transitions to the site from other resources?
Metabase
Hello @ititov_agency -
When you say track transitions to the site, do you mean version control over the embedded analytics? If so, there are two main approaches (serialization and our in-app version history), so "yes". If you mean something else, ... then "maybe" =)

Thanks for hunting us today, @peer_rich. Always love seeing what customers like the team at cal.com are building with embedded analytics and how much faster they're able to get to market and iterate compared to building analytics from scratch.
Our embedding product has evolved in leaps and bounds over the past year with the addition of the React SDK and we're excited about how it'll continue to improve and support new and existing customers' in-product reporting ambitions.
