Meta shares fresh news about its display glasses for 2026
I'm not actually a user of these glasses, but I'm always interested in what's new, and I have to say that Meta is really putting a lot into this project.
For 2026, it comes with the following:
– Glasses are not full AR, but Meta's first with a heads-up display
– Glasses are controlled via a neural wristband
– Demand is very high; Meta paused international expansion to increase production
Some features to be mentioned:
In-lens teleprompter for reading speeches while maintaining eye contact
Finger-writing messaging to send texts on WhatsApp and Messenger
Expanded pedestrian navigation (now in 32 cities)
Garmin partnership enabling interaction with in-vehicle systems and apps
Do you think their glasses will be able to replace the mobile experience? (That's one of their goals)
