One of the things that bothers me about performance reviews
by•
You’re expected to remember everything you did months ago.
Especially the unplanned work.
That production incident
The weird bug you spent an entire afternoon debugging
Teammate you helped unblock
Investigation that never became a Jira ticket
Small improvement that saved everyone time.
If you’re naturally good at talking about your accomplishments, you can probably reconstruct the story.
If you’re introverted, forgetful, or just focused on doing the work rather than talking about it, a lot of that work gets lost.
And then people wonder why some employees struggle to demonstrate their impact.
Maybe we need better systems for capturing work, not just better systems for assigning it.
That’s one of the ideas behind Meridian.
