Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Shreya Jha, and I’m excited to introduce MemShift — your Internet Memory. 🧠 The Inspiration & Problem We kept running into the same problem: We'd watch a YouTube video about Spring Boot, read an article about caching, go through some documentation, and think: “I know I saw this somewhere… but where?” The internet is full of things we learn, but most of that knowledge disappears into tabs, bookmarks, history, screenshots, and forgotten notes. We wanted to build something that could remember the useful things we discover online — without turning into a surveillance tool. 🚀 What We Built MemShift turns what you learn online into a personal, searchable knowledge memory. Automatic Knowledge Capture: Capture useful content from videos, articles, documentation and the web without manually maintaining notes. Knowledge Mapping: MemShift connects related things you've learned — for example, a Spring Boot video + a caching article can become part of your broader Backend knowledge. Recall: Instead of remembering where you saw something, search for what you remember learning and let MemShift bring the relevant knowledge back. Privacy First: Your internet memory should belong to you. MemShift is designed around local processing, explicit controls, and minimizing unnecessary browsing data collection. 🌱 How It Evolved We initially thought about building another tool for saving and organizing internet content. But we realized that saving isn't the real problem. The real problem is recalling. Nobody wants another folder full of bookmarks they never open. So we shifted the idea toward something much closer to a memory layer for the internet— something that can capture what matters, understand how different pieces of knowledge relate, and help you find it when you actually need it. We're still building MemShift, and that's why your feedback matters a lot to us. What would you want your Internet Memory to remember? What would make you trust something like this with your knowledge? Drop your thoughts, questions, and feature ideas below. We'd love to hear them. 🚀 — Shreya & the MemShift team
