Many people don't get Medium, but it seems pretty clear where they're heading. with and is the best overview of the platform and where it's heading.

I don't think so. Tried to create publications in both ways but neither of them let me have a custom headers. Maybe, I am missing something...

At least some of the new features for publications have been enabled for all publication, not just the big named mags in the announcement.
Looks like you can have a bunch of editors and writers under the one publisher account
Great news ! Let's hope Medium doesn't end up filled with poor quality publication and remain the top quality content platform that we know :)

from what I understood, it actually is a Publication, only improved (a lot).

This looks awesome! Great ideas for the Revenue beta too. The big question with Medium has always been whether to build on their platform exclusively, or stick with your own blog and syndicate to It, and this is a big step for them to encourage exclusivity.
Yes, I usually post on my own blog and on Medium. Seems that's the strategy for most.
With all the articles appearing there as window dressing to associated start ups, I am glad they are recognizing it both as a sort of threat but also as an opportunity.
Super cool update, but I'd like to know if it's possible to remove Medium's header from a publication. Is it? I'm aware that you probably won't allow it, but it doesn't hurt to ask :) By the way, I'd be willing to pay to have it removed. I'd imagine that publishers from all sizes would, too. I work for a big newspaper and dealing with CMSs is normally a pain in the neck. I wonder if it would be even possible to have a whole newspaper website built entirely on Medium CMS (as is the case with WordPress). Great job anyways. I'm a big fan of Medium.
Love this. I'm starting up my own personal blog here and shifting my fitness blog away from WP. Anyone else having trying to work out how to add a header that fills the width of the page like here - ?
I wrote in to Medium support and was informed that "The tools for customization will be rolling out later this week."
