Matter - Read-it-later, reinvented

Good morning PH, excited to be here :) I’m Ben and my co-founder is @peperomioides . We started Matter because reading online is still a frustrating experience! While our other tools have improved over time–with more powerful functionality, social features, and seamless interfaces–reading is largely the same as it’s been for the past few decades. Matter is a read-it-later app built for today’s internet. It treats creators, newsletters, and alternative media as first-class citizens. It’s social. And it uses modern technology – from parsing to speech synthesis – to deliver a more magical reading experience. We just launched Matter to public beta after a year and a half of development (iOS only for now), and we’re delighted to share it with the Product Hunt community. We’d love to hear your feedback! Plus awesome UX, built-in highlighting & text-to-speech for free! I'm super excited to see what they build next.

Matter is undoubtedly the best thing the Internet has birthed for reading. Skilled curation, surfacing new gems from other readers, ingesting newsletters, and an ambitious whole-of+content vision. Not reading for utility. Not reading to perform for others. Reading for curiosity, joy, and discovery.

I’ve said it before elsewhere, but worth restating: Matter is the Reader’s Reader. Anyone serious about expanding the scope of their reading on a daily basis should give it a try. The ability to share articles, follow authors, and capture meaningful chunks of text is really unparalleled. It gives you not only a sense of control over the fire-hose of things to read on the internet, but also a quiet place to enjoy that reading when you are ready. I’ve been a dedicated user since beta (after years of struggling with Pocket). Finally, the timeliness and relevance of each new feature makes updating Matter a pleasure—how many other apps can you say the same? Run, don’t walk.

I've been using Matter (in beta) for almost a year now. It's become an indispensable tool for me, and a big part of my coffee time every morning!

I use this product on a daily basis, it's absolutely excellent and only getting excellent-er :) Highly recommend.

I've been Matter for the last few month and have to say it's the best read-it-later app I've ever used. I especially enjoy the article recommendation and the audio features! I with Ben and his team great success (I'd look forward for a potential RemNote integration 👀)!
