Ask me anything! Solo Founder, built in 2 days, launching today

byโ€ข

Hey PH ๐Ÿ‘‹ I'm Jake, I built MailThePresident.

The pitch: physical mail to the White House is still one of the most effective civic channels that exists. Staff reads it, tallies it by topic, reports it up. Way more signal than a tweet. But almost nobody does it because the friction is too high.

So I built the plumbing. Tell it what's on your mind, AI writes a real letter in your voice, you pick a letterhead, pay $5, and I personally print it, stamp it, and drop it at the post office.

I previously ran a print and mail facility so the fulfillment side is familiar territory. Built the whole tech stack solo. React, Node, Postgres, Stripe, Anthropic API, Puppeteer for PDF rendering, all on Railway.

Happy to answer anything:

- How the AI voice preservation works

- The moderation pipeline (18 USC ยง871 makes this non-optional)

- Fulfillment operations

- How I built it in ~2 days

- Business model, pricing, plans

Ask me anything.

Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out MailThePresident ๐Ÿ™

A few things that might not be obvious from the listing:

1. It actually sounds like you. The biggest problem I had to solve was the AI sanitizing everything into generic policy language. I spent a lot of time fighting the model to preserve the user's actual voice, specific references, emotional register, even profanity when that's the tone. A letter that sounds like a form letter is worthless. A letter that sounds like you is the whole point.

2. The White House really does read this stuff. The Office of Presidential Correspondence processes all physical mail, categorizes it by topic, and reports public sentiment to the administration. It's one of the few direct civic feedback channels that still works.

3. I mail every letter personally right now. I print it on a laser printer, fold it, stuff it into a window envelope, stamp it, and drop it at the post office. Old school. I previously managed a print and mail facility so this is familiar territory. Phase 2 is API handoff to Lob or LetterStream when volume warrants it.

4. It works for everyone. Supporters, critics, whatever your politics. That's intentional. Civic infrastructure shouldn't pick sides.
