What recurring expense surprised you the most when you finally tracked it?

by

Hi everyone,

I often forget about small recurring payments because they are automatic. For example, I recently realized I was still paying for internet in an old apartment where I don't live anymore (approximately $15, it's not much but in a year it's 180!). Another time, I forgot to cancel my car insurance on time, and it renewed automatically. I lost money both times just because I forgot.

Because of this, after hours, I built Lupi. It is a simple mobile app to track subscriptions and (what's important) bills and trials, and it sends you reminders before you have to pay. It is private and keeps all data only on your phone. Although there are a lot of similar apps, they often require account, connection to your bank, have only subscription tracking, or are just complicated and have outdated UI.

Lupi is launching on Product Hunt on June 17th.

I want to ask you what was the most surprising recurring expense you found when you checked your bank account? How long did you pay for it before you noticed?

Please share your stories :)
