@ana_vizcarrondo_goyanes We heard users saying it feels magical, and I can understand why. Thanks for your support and looking forward to seeing you build something with GPT Engineer! π
Hay I've been a user for 4/5 months, even before this tool was in beta or even alpha for that matter. I'm a developer so using this tool hits different. I usually code backends so I'm not the biggest fan of coding frontends everytime I'm building a new tool. This tool allows me to quickly go from zero to functioning prototypes. Moreover if you have a team of developers you can just code the beginnings yourself and then share it with your devs. This is the hidden value of this tool. You will never have any communication errors again. I've catched myself opening up this app before going to bed just to see what kind of stuff I can create. It really plays into your dopamine if see stuff happening infront of you in realtime. Just you wait until opus 3.5 releases.

@marius_wilsch Hey, one of our OGs is in the chat! π
Thanks for sharing this in detail. It's helpful for other users in a position similar to yours to understand the value and have realistic expectations. Keep building!

Overall, GPT Engineer has transformed the way I approach web app development. Itβs a must-have tool for any team looking to create personalized landing pages, interactive web apps, and validate ideas quickly. Joining the waitlist was one of the best decisions I made this year.
Hereβs why Iβm so impressed:
1. The natural language first editor is incredibly intuitive. It translates plain language into code seamlessly, making it accessible to both beginners and seasoned developers. This can save hours of coding time.
2. The platform allows you to prototype or build real web apps at an unprecedented speed. This is perfect for validating ideas quickly and iterating based on feedback without the usual delays.
3. GPT Engineer integrates perfectly with existing codebases and version control systems like Git. This ensures that every project is backed by a single source of truth, making collaboration effortless. The ability to instantly preview changes and share work-in-progress drafts has streamlined our team's workflow significantly.
4. The flexibility to deploy to production or existing pipelines without any vendor lock-in is a huge plus. This gives me the freedom to choose the best tools for our projects without being tied down to a specific ecosystem.
5. Building instant MVPs instead of throwaway prototypes has been a revelation. It allows me to validate features and ideas in lightning speed, which is crucial for startups and early-stage projects.
6. The ability for anyone on the team to build tools and solve problems simply by describing them has streamlined our internal operations. Itβs empowering for non-technical team members to contribute to software development in ways that were previously impossible.
@antonosika Congrats to the team!

Congrats on the launch. Definitely a game changer for small to mid-size projects. What is the largest project that you have seen built and deployed (even beta) with gptengineer.app? Are there any limitations for large-ish projects (e.g with several tens of thousands of lines)?

@gorkemcetin Thanks for your support and kind words. I really don't know by heart - the biggest one I'm aware of has more than 400 edits and it's still performing very well, but I'm unsure about the number of code lines.
I'd say that several tens of thousands of lines would be pushing it - can't confidently say I saw projects of that size built exclusively with GPT Engineer

@vibor_cipan Fair enough - thanks for your detailed answer! Hope we'll be able to see them soon really.
Sounds super exciting, especially with the ability to build and deploy so fast. Just wonderingβdoes it require any coding knowledge, or is it something non-coders can use as well? Congrats on moving to beta!

@isabellarosewilson, hey, that's a perfect question! No coding knowledge is requiredβalmost jokingly, I can say that if you can formulate an idea in English, you can very likely use GPT Engineer. Keep in mind that it's primarily focused on building UIs with Alpha support for auth and data (with Supabase), but in a huge number of cases, just regular English is enough to build great things.
We also noticed people interacting with it using their languages, like Swedish or Croatian, and it worked. Check out the video in the gallery. All there has been done using just English, and no code written.

Exciting to see the evolution from alpha to beta, @antonosika! The ability to go from prompt to prototype in seconds is a game changer for many of us in the dev community. The integration with GitHub and Supabase is particularly impressive, making collaboration seamless. It's clear you've been listening to user feedback and iterating effectively. Can't wait to see how GPT Engineer continues to evolve! Looking forward to trying it out and seeing what we can build together - will definitely drop a use-case to get fast-tracked! Keep up the great work!

GPT Engineer will raise the bar for software development and rapid prototyping. I am someone who has never written a line of code in my life yet I have now launched 3 products built with GPT Engineer that I use myself
