We built this after my wife got a T-Mobile scam text and my coworker got a fake Disney call — both in the same morning. The existing scam blockers couldn't help because the numbers were too new to be in any database. So we asked: what if you could check whether the phone number actually appears on the company's official website? That's the cross-reference angle — no database dependency, works on day one.
