I firmly believe that the interface is the product and while the backend of any decent application needs to be responsive and secure, applications that don’t have a great frontend are likely to fail. I have been building web frontends literally for decades and enjoy spending time to carefully hand craft highly usable interfaces. Linx allows me to build a backend and expose it as a REST API quickly and easily, thereby giving me more time to do what I love - creating great user experiences. Admittedly, I am the product designer of Linx, but I also “eat my own dog food” and am an avid and enthusiastic user.

The speed at which you can perform one-time integrations is stupendous, and the web services hosting is particualrly simple to use. We needed to test how long processing 3 million records into a GL system would take. We used Linx to build a file to import (in the format required by the GL system) from our pre-production environment (SQL-based). This took a fraction of the time than it would have if we needed to code it. We also regularly use Linx to expose REST web services APIs as a data layer for consumption by mobile apps and web front-ends. Doing this with Linx is frighteningly fast. The time gains in getting to testing and to market are well worth it.

This tool is used to build complex backend process solutions for large corporates, and ALSO to solve everyday automation and integration problems for the SME market. It is extremely powerful and robust, and you need not be a technical guru to create magic that used to be only possible for hardcore coders. There is still no real competition for the power that this tool puts in your hands.
