Why we built LinkedResume — and the rejection that started it all
Hey everyone 👋
I'm Yuri, co-founder of LinkedResume. Before we launch, I wanted to share the honest story of why this exists.
A while back I was applying for jobs. I had solid experience, an updated LinkedIn, and genuine motivation. What I didn't have was a resume that actually worked.
I was sending the same document to every application. No tailoring. No keyword optimization. Just copy-pasting my LinkedIn into a Word doc and hoping for the best.
The callbacks never came.
It took me way too long to realize the problem wasn't my experience — it was that 75% of resumes are rejected by ATS software before a human ever reads them. Mine was one of them, and I had no idea.
The frustrating part: everything a strong resume needed was already on my LinkedIn. I was just manually rewriting it every single time.
So we built LinkedResume.
I'd love to hear — has anyone else been through this? Did you ever figure out why you weren't getting callbacks?
