Shame on anyone who is upvoting. Libra is not a cryptocurrency, or a stable coin, or anything. It has nothing to do with the principles that started Bitcoin or Ethereum.

Pros:

I can't believe this crap is being upvoted.

Cons:

Libra has nothing to do with the principles that started Bitcoin or Ethereum.

Good initiative by Facebook. Looks like Blockchain goes to mainstream. But the question is, will bitcoin survive in this crowd??
If the store of value "story" sells, it should. Gold didn't go away just because we're using cash, both have their use-case.
good points! It’s a positive sign for crypto world.
Sorry folks but Libra is not blockchain based.
Question: - How is Libra a stable coin? Is it backed by securities?
Yes, it's backed by bank deposits and government securities.
what would be it's price compared to local currencies? Like when used as payment or remittances on another country, how does the price change?

So where do I download their Node Kernel how do I setup a wallet?

Pros:

It's mission to achieve a global currency with a decentralised Blockchain as a strategy.

Cons:

For a Public Blockchain Network – they're very light on details on how one's on computer can be part of the network.

Its commendable that facebook has brought crypto to mainstream. But, I don't like the idea of Libra Associations, which are mostly big corps, that will be controlling the transaction validation network. Its not truly decentralised, but then there is no other truly decentralised crypto out there. Every crypto coin network has most of control under few mining families. Lets see how it plays out. Not really excited about this. I hope bit-torrent launches a crypto too. At least it will have the potential to be truly decentralised :)
Bram Cohen started Chia.
Proof of space? Isn't more disk-space lead to control over network? enlighten pls.
Project good and like
Nothing in Libra has not been done by Alipay, other than writing blockchain and crypto everywhere on the website. Oh, and it will not be global if it will not be available in India and China.
Curating node owners is a really bad idea, totally defeats the purpose of a trusted, distributed blockchain.

so...this comes from facebook

Pros:

It is a good and necessary thing for XXI century

Cons:

Comes from #FB
