Layn - A focus timer you never have to look at

by
Layn is a focus timer that drains an ambient bar across the top of every browser tab, so you feel your session ticking down without checking a clock. Pomodoro built in. Free to use. Optional Pro adds tab lock and a site allowlist.

Hey Product Hunt, I'm Niven, a product designer in Kuala Lumpur. I built Layn because every focus timer I tried made me keep checking the clock, which is the exact thing I was trying to stop doing. So I made one you don't look at. It drains a thin ambient bar across the top of every tab. You feel the time going down in the corner of your eye and just keep working. It's free. There's an optional Pro for a one-time $3.99, no subscription, that adds tab lock and a site allowlist for when you really need to not open Twitter. It's a solo project, so I'd love brutal feedback, especially on whether the ambient bar actually helps you focus or just turns into wallpaper after a day. That's the part I most want to get right. That clears both required errors. Next step is Images and media, where the screen recording of the bar draining matters more than anything else on the listing. Tell me when you're there.
