Question to users: demo call or self service signup?

This one is for you as users, not as founders.

When you find a new B2B tool, what do you want first? Book a demo with a real person or sign up and click around on your own?

We see both with kōdlo. Some people sign up and start using it the same day. Others write to me first and want me to show them everything on a call.

Personally I almost always go self service. I only book a call when the product looks complex or expensive.

What about you? Demo or self service? And does it change depending on the price?

For me it's self service all the way - if I am the right audience for the tool I should be able to start using it straight away, maybe with a bit of a guided walkthrough. I think that is part of making the product good in the first place.

I know people who like calls, but I feel like on a call I will not get the same clarity about the product as when I am hands-on with it.

I'm a self-service person. But for Tulu, we haven't cracked it yet. There are still too many barriers.
Hopefully, with the changes we're implementing, we'll get a clearer read on which option works best and for whom...
