Unnecessarily disruptive. Promotes spam culture, especially with the +++ syntax. It could become tolerable if it didn't generate bot messages and just summed emoji reactions from time to time.

@maciej_kwidzinski Sorry you've had such experience. Karma is fully customisable and can be set the way you've described (track reactions only). To reduce the bot's visibility, please check out Settings > Notifications panel.

@stas_kulesh Nice, that's thoughtful!

Hi all 👋🏻 Today, after a lengthy period of development, we present to you new Karma: peer recognition platform that brings true bonding to your team. The new version has Achievements, Team Rewards (Kickstarter-like campaigns), Automation and tons of other cool features. What is Karma? Nowadays, people often feel unappreciated at work. Karma is on the mission to end that. We simply help people to say ‘thank you’ more often and connect with each other. The native tool built for WFH. - Share micro-feedback instantly - Set real-life perks and rewards - Engage with your team and gain valuable insights - Analyse appreciation and praise activity through reports - Reinforce long-term vision and goals - Enable and propagate your company values 1,000+ teams who use Karma for daily appreciation, recognition and rewards. 100,000+ happy customers, 5M+ karma sent to date. 220 paying teams. Please accept my sincere apologies for that. It was a genuine tech mistake on our side, the message was meant for a subset of people that we know personally (e.g. did live demos). This will never happen again. I am responding to all customers affected by that, apologising and making sure they don't feel offended. Sorry for the disruption. ----

I'll admit it. I thought Karma was silly, and then I found myself paying attention to how I can better acknowledge my teammates and enjoyed when they did the same for me. Nice work, Stas.
Stas Kulesh
@josephofiowa haha :) It can be playful and silly, and it can be strict and serious: companies and teams are like people, they are all different.

Hey Stas, I'm impressed about the solidness of Karma.
Stas Kulesh
@roman_eaton Thanks Roman.

@stas_kulesh I wish you all the best. Packs of Icons are very viral and difficult to compete with.
Stas Kulesh
@roman_eaton I totally understand that. I also know that Ivan's team and the products they make are really great!

@stas_kulesh keep going!

Nice work @stas_kulesh and team 🎉 I joined a Slack that had Karmabot and didn't really know what it was. Then one day I saw myself on the leaderboard it was hugely motivating to help out and be supportive. Excited to see how it progresses - will definitely use it on our own Slack when we grow our team.

The big discussion topic on Slack at work this morning is that 2500+ users just got interrupted by this spam message: "@Karma: Hi all, I’ve just published our award-winning startup Karma on Product Hunt, please visit the page, click the link and upvote if you’ve got a minute! :man-bowing::skin-tone-2: Thanks!"
Stas Kulesh
@miles_erickson Apologies for that. It was a genuine mistake. The message was meant to be sent to the limited list of customers only. I'm really sorry for the disruption we have caused. This is not how the PH launch should go.
Stephen Brown
sent spam on slack to beg for upvotes here! 0/10 go away
Stas Kulesh
@stephen_brown6 Apologies for that Stephen. It should've gone to our paying customer only. This was the first time we tried it and, obviously, it didn't work and backfired. 🙇🏻‍♂️

We love Karma! This is a very useful service for our remote team. I tried a new feature of "achievements". This is what we were so lacking. Continue in the same spirit! Good luck ✨
