What's the most painful part of applying to jobs? Building in the open, tell me what to fix

JobTailor currently handles: tailored resume + cover letter from your one master resume, an AI gap interview that mines forgotten experience, ATS keyword coverage scoring, and application tracking. Launching globally soon.

Before launch day I want to hear what actually hurts. The 2-hours-per-application grind? Not knowing why nobody calls back? The ATS black hole? Tell me your worst pain and I'll tell you honestly whether we solve it or not, and what's on the roadmap if we don't

I went from 1 interview in 3 weeks to 8-10 a week, by fixing my resume process, not my resume

After leaving my previous company I sent out resumes the normal way and got one phone interview in three weeks. I tried every tailoring tool, free and paid, and they all either did keyword soup or straight up invented experience I didn't have.

So I built my own: it only reframes what you actually did, and when a job asks for something your resume doesn't show, it interviews YOU to surface real stories you forgot instead of making things up. Iterating on it got me to 8-10 interviews a week, including roles as different as VP, PM, and Architect from the same real history.

That tool became JobTailor, launching here soon. Curious: what's your actual callback rate when you apply? People are shocked when they measure it.

Is it lying if AI "improves" your resume? Where's the line?

Honest question for job seekers here. Most AI resume tools will happily add skills you don't have, recruiters are increasingly good at sniffing this out, and candidates get destroyed in interviews defending resumes they didn't write.

I built JobTailor around a hard rule: nothing gets added that you haven't confirmed is true. Reframing, reordering, emphasizing, yes. Inventing, never. Some users initially find that limiting compared to ChatGPT. Then they get to the interview and can defend every line.

Where do you personally draw the line between framing and fabricating?
