Tens of years working on internal stuff, first post here

I've been designing dashboards and internal software for a decade that no one outside my firm has ever seen before. Good work, invisible work. I started developing something for myself six months back – a tiny scheduling software for freelance tutors, mainly because I was always hearing the same grumble from my sister.

I've been lurking around here for quite some time now reading launch threads and finally thought of introducing myself instead of silently upvoting.

Has anyone else who previously developed internal software transitioned to working on projects for outsiders had any revelations?
