Thought I'd introduce myself since I've started hanging around here more.

By day, I work as a patent professional — basically, I get paid to be skeptical about whether things are actually new. By night, I run a blog where I track software releases: what's new, what changed, and how tools stack up against each other.

The two jobs feed each other more than you'd expect. Examining patents taught me to spot the difference between "seriously innovative" and "repackaged with better marketing" — and that's exactly the lens I use when covering software. If a changelog says "revolutionary AI features," my first question is usually "compared to what?"

What you'll find me doing here:

• Writing honest reviews of tools I actually test

• Digging into launch-day features and asking makers uncomfortable-but-fair questions

• Joining discussions about software, productivity, and the occasional "is this feature actually novel?" debate

If you're building something, I'd genuinely love to hear about it — especially if it solves a problem I've watched people struggle with. And if you have strong opinions about release notes (yes, really), we'll get along fine.
