Hi Product Hunt 👋 software delivery person, first launch on Oct 9

by•

Hi everyone! I work in software delivery, where every new project starts with a discovery phase: kickoff calls, decks and notes that someone has to turn into stakeholders, goals, requirements and a roadmap before the build starts.

After doing that by hand more times than I can count, I built Discovery Phase AI, a tool that drafts that discovery from the files you already have and keeps it in one consistent report. It's my first product launch here, scheduled for October 9, so I'm reading a lot of launch threads and learning as I go.

Outside of that I'm interested in AI-assisted product work, how small teams ship fast without cutting corners, and the boring-but-important parts of SaaS like billing and onboarding emails.

Two questions for the community:

- What's one thing you wish you had known before your first launch here?

- Which threads or makers here are worth following if you care about product discovery and requirements?

Looking forward to meeting you all.

One thing nobody told me: forum threads here go through review before anyone sees them. When one of mine was rejected, it still showed on my own profile at 0 upvotes and 0 comments, so it looked published and ignored. The real verdict only showed up on the notifications page, usually within a couple of minutes.

So if you post anything in the run up to the 13th, check notifications afterwards rather than your profile.

What do you expect people to upload first to Discovery Phase AI, call notes or decks?

Thanks, that’s useful to know. I’ll check notifications rather than my profile.

My guess is decks and docs first, since people usually have a kickoff deck or a brief on hand before they have clean transcripts. Call notes are where I think it gets more useful, because that’s where the contradictions and unanswered questions are. You can upload several files at once (decks, docs, transcripts, screenshots). It drafts the background, stakeholders, goals and requirements from them, and you review everything before anything is saved.

I’d like to see whether that guess holds up. Which do you reach for first?
