Hi, I'm Salman. Ex line cook, now developing inventory management software for restaurants
Hello everyone, my name is Salman. I have worked in restaurants for nine years, the last three as a sous chef in Chicago. Every Sunday night, I would do inventory by hand using a clipboard, and every Monday, there was an error in the numbers.
That frustration motivated me to teach myself how to code. I started with spreadsheets, then went on to coding with Python scripts, and for the last four months, I have been working on a small project that I call PantryPilot.
I am a newcomer to Product Hunt, and I am here just to observe and understand how launches really work, as well as connect with the developers of products for less sexy industries. Problems of kitchens, warehouses, and clinics are not as exciting as yet another note-taking application.
If you have developed a product for an industrial setting, tell me how you managed to get real feedback from those who have no time for surveys. What forums and makers should I check out first?
