33yo female frontend dev pivoting to AI indie hacking.
Hey everyone, I’m Mary.
To be completely honest, I’m writing this at a major crossroads in my life. A few weeks ago, I lost my job as a frontend developer here in China.
The reality of the tech job market here is harsh. As a 33-year-old female developer, finding a new role feels nearly impossible. I’ve sent out hundreds of resumes, and almost all of them have sunk into a black hole without a single reply. The age anxiety and the environment can easily crush your confidence.
But instead of waiting endlessly for an HR email that might never come, I decided I need to build my own way out. I'm pivoting from pure frontend to becoming an indie hacker, focusing deeply on the AI Agent space.
I’m currently working on structuring the mental models of top thinkers (like Munger and Jobs) into a knowledge graph for AI agents, so LLMs can stop giving generic advice and start reasoning with real frameworks.
I don't have a product link to share yet. I’m just here because transitioning from a corporate employee to a solo founder is terrifying, and building alone in your room is incredibly isolating. I want to connect with this community.
If you’ve successfully transitioned into indie hacking, or if you’re also navigating the AI space alone, I’d love to hear your advice. How do you deal with the anxiety of starting from zero?
Thanks for reading. Wishing everyone a great week! ❤️
