Inflect - Are they mad, or just busy? Read the tone behind any text.

by•
Paste any text, say who sent it (partner, mum, boss, or someone you add by name), and Inflect gives you a calm read: what the message most likely means, what in the wording points that way, the other honest ways it could land, and three replies written for that exact message. Nudge them warmer, shorter, more direct or lighter, then tap to copy. Reads whole chats and screenshots too. No account, nothing stored, names stay on your phone. Free for 24 hours on iPhone. Android in closed testing.

A few months ago my partner replied "ok." to a long message I'd sent and I spent three hours convinced we were breaking up. She was in a meeting. Text strips out tone, and most of us fill the gap with the worst version, usually at 11pm when we're tired and already on edge. Inflect is built for that moment. Paste the message, say who it's from, and get a calm read: what it most likely means, what in the wording points that way, the other honest ways it could land, and three replies you can send as-is or nudge warmer, shorter or more direct. Two things I cared about most while building it. It never claims to know what someone "really meant"; no app can know that from text, so it gives you the likely read and the alternatives and lets you start calmer rather than more certain. And there's no account and nothing stored: a message goes over an encrypted connection once to get the read and is discarded, names stay on your phone, screenshots are read on-device. Free for the first 24 hours with everything unlocked on iPhone. Android is in closed testing and you can join from the site. I'd love to hear the texts that trip you up most. Drop one below and I'll post what Inflect makes of it.
