Meet "The Shaman": Automated, Real-Time Ambient Lighting
In my last post, I broke down how to build highly customized, trigger-based lighting timelines in IdolSync. But let's be honest—sometimes you just want to press a button and let the software do the work.
For those moments, I built a feature called The Shaman.
Instead of mapping out manual triggers, The Shaman acts as your automated mood creator. It actively analyzes your video and Apple Music playlists in real-time, reading the "soul" of the media, and instantly generates a perfectly matched lighting environment across your Hue, WiZ, LIFX, and Apple HomeKit devices.
It is the ultimate "set it and forget it" engine that completely removes the friction of programming smart lights. But you don't give up all control—you can choose from three levels of lighting analysis (Chill, Active, and Intense), and even adjust the overall brightness levels of The Shaman's lighting on the fly.
I’m curious for the makers out there: when it comes to smart home automation, do you prefer granular, manual control, or algorithmic "set it and forget it" features?
