@howtoabroad The silence after applying is honestly more draining than rejection.
What I really respect here is that this did not start as a growth idea. It started as lived pain. Friends getting laid off, then you experiencing it yourself, and choosing to build instead of just coping. That intent comes through clearly.
Turning the job and university process from a black box into something observable is powerful. Even small signals like response patterns or CV effectiveness can restore a sense of control when everything feels random.
While building Curatora, I saw a similar pattern. People do not lack effort or talent. They lack visibility and structured feedback loops. Tools that bring clarity to chaotic systems tend to stick because they reduce emotional fatigue, not just workload.
Excited to see where this goes. Transparency-first products are badly needed right now. Wishing you a strong launch and real conversations from users who need this most.
@imtiyazmohammed Hi Imtiyaz,
We’re still a very small fish in a very big sea, and comments like yours genuinely make us feel proud and reassured that we’re moving in the right direction.
Platforms like LinkedIn could solve this problem too, but since they generate revenue from companies, they can’t really highlight when or where candidates are being ghosted.
With us, the approach is neutral. We’re completely self-funded (though open to funding), and our only goal is to bring more transparency to the process. We truly hope we can make a positive impact over time.
HowToAbroad feels like a really practical tool for anyone planning life or work overseas. Offering clear, country-by-country guidance on visas, requirements, and timelines helps cut through a lot of confusion that travelers and expats usually face. Congrats on launching this!
@ngocphuc_1910 : We apparently are more focused on Job Application tracking and we are refining the student application process as well, which is in beta
