Why are so many great small businesses invisible online?

by•

Hey Product Hunt crowd, I'm Christopher, founder of HootBiz.

I've spent 20+ years building websites and marketing for small business owners, and I keep running into the same problem: really good businesses that are nearly invisible online.

Most owners I start working with are paying for a CRM they barely use, an email tool collecting dust, a review platform earning no reviews for them, and a website + public listings that get no traffic - and none of it talks to each other. Most of it goes unused because it's too complicated or because the owner just has no time.

So I built HootBiz to pull it all into one place:

  • A business listing that's optimized for Google and AI search

  • Hoots, posts that publish to your profile, get indexed in search, and automatically go out as an email to your contacts

  • A Reputation Hub that shows your Google, Yelp, Alignable, Facebook, and HootBiz reviews together on one page

  • A simple CRM with leads, contacts, a pipeline, inbox, scheduling, and invoicing

  • Website integrations so you can manage your entire online presence in one place

  • A community where all of our members network, start groups, host events, and refer each other

It's one plan, $25/month, no tiers. Free profiles are available too, and we've grown to 3,000+ of them so far.

We're launching here next week, and before then I'd genuinely love your feedback:

  1. If you run or advise a small business, what's the one tool you'd happily replace if something simpler did the job?

  2. Does combining a marketing platform with a business networking community make sense to you?

  3. What would make you trust a new business listing platform enough to claim your profile?

Honesty and all feedback is welcome. You can poke around at or claim a free profile, and I'll be here answering every comment.
