Homescreen is the most fun way for founders to stay up to date on the industry news they care about. We'll cover Twitter drama, term sheets, and everything in between. A mix of curated news, resources, and humor 3x per week.
What is up PH! My name is Toby and I’m the content lead at Launch House, a membership community for the most ambitious founders and builders in the world.
After joining Launch House in January and talking with our community of 350+ founders, I asked them all the same question, “So where do you get your news?”
I was met with lots of blank stares. Outside of their Twitter feed, there was nowhere that founders were staying up to date on the world they operated in.
So I set about building that place, using the Launch House community as my test audience.
Three months, 43 editions, and a steady 62% open rate later, I am stoked to unveil Homescreen to the public.
What you’ll find inside
• News: the biggest storylines from the startup world, covered in a way that won’t bore you to tears
• Fresh Powder: a roundup of funds that recently topped up their coffers
• Founders Corner: resources we aggregate that will make you a better founder, builder, or investor
• Lots more!
It’s been hell of a time getting to build this publication, but we're not done yet. If you close your eyes and imagine the perfect way to start your day as a builder, what content would you want to read?
Drop a reply below or send me an email at toby@launchhouse.co if you have any ideas.
P.S. we have a fun lil referral program set up so make sure to share with all your founder friends!
@samdebrule I will include some fundraising news from time to time but i don't want to make that the core offering of Homescreen. If all you see is fundraising news, eventually all the announcements start to blur together a bit imo. My goal is to try to vary up the stuff we cover as much as possible to make the reading experience unique and fun.

I would like to read real startup success stories. With numbers, with insights. We are a startup, and we are very interested! Congratulations on the launch @tobydoyhowell
@viktoria_pupazina this is such a good idea! We actually have a series like that in the works called Founder's Tribune. We'll give founders a platform to tell their stories, without an interpretive middle man.

There are few times in human history where ground-breaking advancements shook mankind and reshaped the world as we know it.
The first was in 3500 BC with the invention of the wheel. In what's now know as modern-day Iraq, the Sumerian people of Lower Mesopotamia inserted rotating axels into solid wooden discs. This innovation led to major advances in two main areas: transport and agriculture.
The second happened centuries later. Long before Edison patented his incandescent light bulb, British inventors demonstrated that electric light was possible with the arc lamp. It’s fair to say that when an advertisement describes anything as “the best invention since the lightbulb,” we’ve begun to take our brilliant, illuminating companion for granted.
The third is more pivotal than the previous two. Simply put, Homescreen is the next lightbulb.
I love starting the morning with Homescreen everyday. @tobydoyhowell & @nathanbaugh27 do an incredible job at sourcing content. I have a ton of substack subscriptions & my inbox is flooded with newsletters, but Homescreen is something I open 100% of the time as it helps condense my newsfeed.
