Homeppl is the world's first digital Rental Resume. Tenants can finally aggregate their tenant reputation, and leverage it to apply to any property anywhere around the world, irrespective of their origin. Landlords can finally choose top tenants based on real rental data. It's a complementary service to any property stock web page, including portals, classified ads, and agencies.

Like @nogahsenecky, I think a resume of landlords is very important. Even more important than tenants'. Why? Same reason I want a review for a store not her customers. Tenants are the buyers, landlords are the service providers - I think it makes much more sense to empower the buyer, rather than the service provider. Great idea, seems like good execution, but I'm not sure I want it to become a standard. I hate the thought of missing out on a great property because I wasn't sucking up to my landlord, or had a beef with a roommate, or just don't like having yet another public profile of me. I guess it's the same as searching for a job, except with rentals I think most landlords just care (or at least should care) about only 2 things: 1. Pay on time 2. Don't destroy my property. Anything else is just... beside the point.

@danr_4 @nogahsenecky Hi. Renting is like a relationship. I agree that the tenant is the buyer and he need to feel like one but also the landlord need to feel safe with his costumer. I agree that most of the landlord care more about paying on time and protecting the property but I think that we can show them to see the whole picture. what do you think?
Nogah Senecky
@ohad_shalev @danr_4 As some one who experiences both sides of this relationship, I absolutely agree. Bad tenants and bad landlords can cause serious financial (and emotional) damage. However I feel that in many areas, the landlord holds much more power and can make certain demands to protect himself. The market gives landlords the upper hand, which is why I think tenants need this tool, but will probably never be able to force bad landlords to embrace it. In this case, maybe grading landlords without their voluntary involvement can help.

@nogahsenecky @danr_4 You are absolutely right! I think that our first step will be to rise up the awareness for the option to review your landlord and vice versa. It will take some time but sooner or later (We hope so!) bad landlord won't be able to find good tenants. another thing that can help (in case of bad landlord) is that if you start your rent and add your landlord you can always review each other. We call it "on going review" and we think that it can help. It provide feedback and it's like "putting a mirror to his face". Thank you for your feedback and support. Feel free to contact us.

Cool product! Does it automatically fetch the credit score of the tenant? Also, if you can add the feature of monthly rental payments gateway , you can keep track of how regular is the tenant in paying the rent. Also, take the credit card or bank account info of both the parties and facilitate smooth hassle free transactions of monthly rental payments. that would be a good value add.

@srikanth_peddibhotla Hi! Thank you! we love to hear feedback! we are working on the option to connect your credit score. adding the option to make the rental payment is very good idea and we will discuss it. Do you think that it can benefit the tenant as well?
Srikanth Peddibhotla
@ohad_shalev Yes it will definitely benefit the tenant. Most of the landlords accept checks which is not convenient mode of payment. Or, they ask to transfer to their bank. So every time I switch places, I need to keep adding or removing their bank accounts in my net banking. If you can remove that friction that would be cool. Like I just give my bank/credit card details to homeppl once, and so does the landlord. Homeppl can establish & maintain this relationship of tenancy between me and the landlord ( for example when the tenants accepts my application, and I accept the tenancy, this relationship is established). Then you can from a future date onwards start the monthly rental payments automatically. None of the tenant or the landlord need to share each other bank account details with each other. Also, the next thing you could add is rental agreements. Can homeppl be the broker who facilitates e-agreements (don't know if they are legally binding). This helps landlords who are remotely located and cannot visit the house just for finding a tenant. For example cozy.co does similar thing . Also, reviews of both landlord and tenant are required. Some landlords are not good and a tenant needs to know this before he rents out the apt.

@srikanth_peddibhotla Great feedback! We already let landlords to open landlord resume and to invite their tenants to give them feedback. Rental agreements is super great idea! this can be an amazing way to the landlord and the tenant to maintain their relationship with on going feedback. This can be a great way for landlord to protect their property, to ensure payment and for tenants to make sure that their landlord is attentive and caring.
Srikanth Peddibhotla
@ohad_shalev Can tenant give the feedback without invitation from landlords? If the landlord knows the feedback won't be good, he may not invite the tenant. :-). Defeats the purpose of reviews. Reviews should be open platform - of course only a tenant can review a landlord and vice versa. I will definitely use this product to find my new tenant ( yes, I am a landlord and tenant both). Which brings up an interesting question? Can I be a registered as a landlord and a tenant. I have a house in my home country which I rent, but I live in US as a tenant. ? I tried, and it either allows to be registered as a tenant or a owner, not both!
Ohad Shalev
@srikanth_peddibhotla 2 things that we defiantly going to add - To open a resume that allow to use it as tenant and landlord (we are still develop some nice features) and also we think of a way that tenants will be able to review their landlord without invitation. Tenant or landlord can always hide the review but it will show up as "hidden review" and will mark that something need to be clear. Thanks!
