Hi Product Hunters! History of Icons illustrates the history of computer icons and icon design from the 1980’s to the present. On the one hand, we show a clear unbiased chronological development of icons, but on the other hand, we present how β€” in some sense β€” history comes full circle. We also wanted to honor the people who invented and refined those tiny, but life-changing design elements. A single-page format was chosen to reflect the nature of a timeline. Superb idea ! In the past I had the pleasure to create concepts for chats and communication systems. Naturally they had a lot to do with emojis and I was always amazed by how people got creative using them. I definitely put the idea on my to-do list!

Nice collection and kudos for mentioning GEOS and my favorite, BeOS, which are often missing in "history" views like this. Not very subtle ad slant at the end, but ok πŸ˜‰
