Hearth - Find the meaning in your days.

by
Hearth is a meaning app. Each day it gives you one small thing to notice or do: give to someone, take in something good, or face something hard. You jot a line. Over time, Hearth turns those moments into a clear picture of what matters to you and what your life is about. It's inspired by Viktor Frankl's logotherapy (also mentioned in his book "Man's Search for Meaning"), a school of psychotherapy focusing on man's will to meaning. A few minutes for a greater sense of meaning in that moment.

Hi everyone, maker of Hearth here. I first read Viktor Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning in my twenties. I read it again in my thirties, and this time logotherapy, his idea that the deepest human drive is the search for meaning, stopped being a concept and became something I actually leaned on. It carried me through two of the hardest stretches of my life. A loved one faced a major, life-threatening illness. And after a few years living abroad, I came home and had to find footing as a new version of myself inside an old life that no longer quite fit. I took a few courses with the Viktor Frankl Institute of Logotherapy, and slowly it changed how I move through ordinary days. Not by removing the hard things, but by helping me find meaning inside them. That's the conviction behind Hearth: meaning isn't only found in the big life answers, it's found in moments. And in a time when the future feels so uncertain and it's easy to just go with the current aimlessly, when a crisis can arrive without warning and helplessness is easy to feel, being able to find meaning in the day to day matters more than ever. So I built Hearth to bring logotherapy to everyone, with a light touch. A few minutes a day to notice meaning in giving, receiving, and carrying, and over time, a clearer sense of what your life is about. I'd love your honest feedback. And I'm curious: where do you find meaning in your days?
