Hashnode Platform - Dev community that lets you blog on your domain for free

by•
Hashnode is a powerful blogging platform with a central developer community. It helps software developers start a personal blog on their own domain and find readership from the community, thereby solving the problem of content ownership and discoverability!

It's never been easier to start a blog. Hashnode provides everything you need to get up and running in a matter of minutes. I started my blog less than 3 weeks ago and am about to pass 2k reads on my articles. With so many features already available (and new features being shipped every week - literally), I've recommended Hashnode to many of my developer friends because it's the best place for technical-writers to call home.
Thank you, Braydon. I am happy you are finding Hashnode useful. Looking forward to reading your articles.
Congrats . I'm loving the progress. Hashnode is a great addition to the developer ecosystem alongside DEV, Hacker Noon and similar others. I like it's community vibe, the ease to keep your content on your own domain as well as the added focus and effort within the African continent. Lastly and selfishly it's great to see the platform adopting new technology and standards with regards Web Monetization.
Thank you for the nice words. :)
Is it only for Devs or can anyone use it?
we are focusing on devs primarily. But, if you want to publish content that are not dev/tech related, you can select the option "hide from Hashnode" while publishing. The article will be visible on your blog, but not on the Hashnode platform.
I've been with these guys since they started and it's definitely a great product/service. They have continued to innovate and not only have they built a great product but also have built a great community.
Nice to see your comment. Thank you! 🙂
Great timing. I'm planning to start sharing some of my knowledge by writing a blog and was wondering what platform to use. Either self-hosted or something like Medium but they both have negative aspects that you seemed to have solved. Going to give it a try this week!
Looking forward to your blog on Hashnode, Niels.
All the best for your launch
Hey, I just signed up and liked the whole concept and presenting the content of author to other similar audience. It makes it great. I have one more doubt. I saw some blogs are indexed in Google as example.hashnode.com and also example.com. Isn't not risky in terms of SEO perspective and what if Google mark it as duplicate content for having exactly same content on 2 different domain and both are indexing instead of only main domain?
Hashnode supports changing of canonical URLs on the articles. It depends on the authors now. If they don't change the canonical URL to the original article, both the links might be indexed by Google. This is true for every web page on the internet.
Amazing product for developers and tech writers. It is a very agile product. adding valuable features on a daily basis
Very cool!
thank you, Pavel! 🙌
I love this.
