Hey Product Hunt šŸ‘‹ I'm Peter, and I've been building Habo - a free, open-source habit tracker for iOS and Android - for a few years now. Today I'm sharing Habo 4.0, which brings the most-requested feature ever: cross-device sync. But I wasn't willing to do sync the lazy way. Most apps that sync your data store it in plaintext on a server you're asked to trust. I built something different. Habo Sync is zero-knowledge and end-to-end encrypted. Your habits are encrypted on your device using a Master Password before they ever leave it. Our servers only see ciphertext - I genuinely cannot read your data, even if I wanted to. What's new in 4.0: → Zero-knowledge E2EE sync across all your devices → Automatic encrypted cloud backups (your streaks survive a lost phone) → Full self-hosting support - run your own backend, no subscription needed → Improved localization → Rewritten error handling and performance improvements Habo has always been about doing less, better: → No ads, no upsells, no gamification dark patterns → Offline-first - works without internet → 4.6ā˜… on Google Play, 4.9ā˜… on App Store The sync subscription funds continued development. Self-hosting is free, forever. Happy to answer any questions about the privacy architecture, the open source setup, or anything else. Would love your feedback. - Peter GitHub: github.com/xpavle00/Habo
